Analogies is a new mix with a much older feel. It combines some personal classics like like one of the beat tracks on Larry Heard's Disco D release, Annette's UK acid anthem "Dream 17," Theo Parrish's "I Can Take It," and Losoul's wonderful minimalist "Surreal Visits Dub"—as well as many other records from the past few years that have a similar sort of analog feel to them. The mix is light on the vocals, but you can still feel the soul in the depth of these productions—in particular the outstanding "Falling Acid" by Tin Man, a modern day house masterpiece if there ever was one. |
